AUG 06, 2003 (newstodate): From September 1, Nordic Aero will take over passenger handling at a number of regional airports in Sweden.
These include Skyways-destinations Norrkoping, Jonkoping, Kristianstad, Kramfors, Skellefteaa, Visby, and Halmstad.
In Sweden, Nordic Aero has already a strong position at capital airport Stockholm Arlanda, where the company now provides all passenger and ramp handling at Terminal 3, in addition to some 20 percent of the volume at Terminal 2.
-Our original core business comprises aircraft cleaning and de-icing, but since medio May we have added passenger and ramp handling as well, taking over these activities from Skyways, says Kari Sutinen, Nordic Aero VP.
At Stockholm Arlanda, Nordic Aero now handles Skyways, Luxair, SN Brussels, SWISS and TAP, while SN Brussels is also handled by the company at Gothenburg.
Nordic Aero now employs a total of 180 staff in Sweden, soon to be increased by 140 more after September 1.
