AUG 08, 2003 (newstodate): The electronic cargo exchange, set up earlier this year with Singapore Airlines Cargo, Japan Airlines Cargo, Cathay Pacific and Qantas Cargo, will be ready for commercial launch by early next year.
According to a high-ranking Singapore Airlines official, the new exchange wil be named EasyCargo and is currently being tested out at a number of key destinations including Singapore, Hong Kong, and Tokyo, with Australia soon to come.
The official said the new exchange will be "much cheaper" to join, while offering basically the same key functionalities as e.g. the GF-X.
