AUG 05, 2003 (newstodate): KLM has decided to suspend plans for a service to Baghdad, Iraq scheduled to start from September 1.
Pending final shortlisting by the US authorities in Iraq on operators of flights into Baghdad, KLM had already entered the planned service into its reservation systems.
But due to the lack of security around Baghdad Airport, the airline has now suspended its projected flights, at least until the start of the coming winter programme, taking effect from October 26, 2003.
