AUG 26, 2003 (newstodate): After the merger with Braathens Cargo from July 1, 2002, Jetpak Norway has seen its business volumes significantly up.
-During its first year of business, Jetpak Norway's turn-over has grown from NOK 30 million to 90 million, says Stein-Arve Soerensen, Jetpak Norway managing director.
Soerensen says Jetpak Norway's target for 2003 is now 90,000 shipments, and for 2004 the target is 110,000 shipments.
To support its business operations, Jetpak Norway this summer implemented a new IT system to focus on transactions via the internet that has now become the company's most important distribution channel.
-Jetpak's business concept builds on a Nordic route network comprising 1,900 daily flights connected to a substantial road transportation network securing same-day door-to-door delivery within the Nordic region and to specific European cities in cooperation with SAS, Stein-Arve Soerensen says.
Lately, Jetpak has added worldwide door-to-door services in cooperation with DHL.
