AUG 13, 2003 (newstodate): The first Boeing 777 aircraft for KLM is currently on the assembly line and will be delivered to the airline by October, says Boeing.
The aircraft will be the first to incorporate the first fully certified Class 3 Jeppesen Electronic Flight Bag (EFB), using hardware from Astronautics Corp. The EFB makes all the information needed to fly the airplane, including digitized manuals, weight-and-balance information, available to pilot on his cockpit computer display.
KLM has four 777-200ERs on order and has signed lease contracts for six more.
