AUG 13, 2003 (newstodate): In July, Finnair saw its passenger volumes down by 5.8 percent to 538,800 passengers.
For the period January-July, traffic in RPKs was 3.2 percent below 2002 level on a capacity increase of 3.4 percent.
In contrast, scheduled traffic on Far Eastern routes experienced a capacity increase by 15.5 percent.
Finnair's cargo volumes dipped by 16.7 % in terms of cargo tonnes carried, also reflecting the temporary suspension of the freighter services during the summer period.
Finnair Cargo earlier claimed that it would honour its pledge to reinstate the services from the autumn, but no comments on this are currently available from the company.
