AUG 22, 2003 (newstodate): From early 2004 "at the latest", Danish in-night logistics provider, DAN'X plans to introduce a nightly freighter service from Europe to enhance its distribution services in the Nordic markets.
The freighter service will operate from Maastricht to Jonkoping and Helsinki, using a Cessna 208 Caravan aircraft lifting 1,400 kg of airfreight.
-The service will ensure late cut-off times for ordering of shipments, and delivery by 07, 08, or between 08-14 depending on the geographical destinations, says Bob Thorhauge, DAN'X A/S.
All Nordic capitals, and all of Denmark and most of Sweden, will have deliveries before 07 in the morning, while the northern part of Sweden will be served by an early-morning SAS-flight out of Copenhagen.
The Danish and Norwegian markets are served by nightly road transportation, and the company currently has agreements with 55 hauliers in Denmark and seven in Sweden.
