AUG 20, 2003 (newstodate): According to a Ukrainian press report, Antonow Airlines denies that its An-225 Mria is engaged in NATO troop transports in Afghanistan.
Antonov Airlines' ceo, Konstantyn Lushanov also said that there were also no plans to use the Mria in the future for NATO deployment of troops.
Antonov Airlines has, however, performed to chartered Mria flights from Afghanistan to take German troops and equipment back to Germany, as the An-124-100 Ruslan was not available at the time of the operation, he said.
