JUL 17, 2003 (newstodate): The Air Navigation Services of the Czech Republic has contracted Thales to provide an RSM 970S Mode S Monopulse Secondary Surveillance radar.
The radar will be installed at Pisek, south-west of Prague, constituting the first step in the ANS CR Mode S implementation programme.
Thales ATM is also upgrading the Czech Republic Air Traffic Management system which processes Mode S data.
With this new Mode S radar, the Czech Republic completes the modernisation of its Air Traffic Management System to bring it on a par with the top European service providers.
