The record was reached on June 19, but the total number of aircraft movements during one month was also been broken in June with a total number of landings and take-offs at 10.497 operations.
In connection with the recently launched construction of terminal North, the State Company Air Navigation Services CR is co-operating with the Czech Airports Authority on preparing the adjustment of the airports existing runway system. This comprises first of all the construction of a new rapid exit taxiway for aircraft landing from both directions of the main landing runway, and extending the number of runway-holding positions for taking-off aircraft.
These adjustments will make it possible to gradually increase the capacity of the runway system, until the time when the parallel runway 24L/06R is built. This runway is essential from the aspect of long-term systemic solution of the capacity requirements of airport Prague
