JUL 15, 2003 (newstodate): easyJet today announced that it will increase its focus on the transportation of passengers, and cease to carry
cargo at the end of August 2003.
easyJet continued Go's cargo business for a
year after the merger.
-The cargo partnership with GSA Wexco was a good choice by Go, and produced an excellent cargo product. But as easyJet expand the low cost airline industry, it is essential we focus on what we do best; low cost passenger travel. For us to continue to offer great fares, we must maintain a simple business model, says Ray Webster, easyJet CEO.
easyJet's cargo customers have already been notified of the airline decision, and they are promised business as usual for the cargo service
until the end of August, the airline says in a statement.
