JUL 24, 2003 (newstodate): China Airlines cargo operation dwindled a little between March and May due to SARS. However, the operation in June has returned to normal.
-During January-June China Airlines' cargo traffic, RTK, and capacity, ATK, increased by 2.1 2.8 percent, respectively. The cargo revenue for the first half of 2003 was NT$ 16 billion, a seven percent growth compared to the same period last year, says Leopold Verherstraeten, China Airlines Marketing & Planning Manager.
China Airlines will introduce its 16th and 17th freighter in coming August and December.
The increased capacity will be able to accommodate the traditional peak season for cargo from September.
After receiving its 16th freighter, China Airlines will add three cargo flights per week on its North America and Europe bound cargo services
