JUN 06, 2003 (newstodate): Low-cost carrier Iceland Express, offering daily scheduled flights from Reykjavik, Iceland to Copenhagen and London Stansted, is keen to attract air cargo as well.
-Our Boeing 737-300 normally takes up to three tonnes of cargo on each flight, and we would certainly like to make the best out of this capacity, says Gudmundur Gudmundsson, Iceland Express manager cargo.
Mr. Gudmundsson says the airline's cargo service is a "wholesale cargo service", as bookings and cargo sales are provided by GSAs AMG in the UK, and Kales in Denmark.
In Iceland, the cargo bookings and sales service are provided by Jonar Transport.
Iceland Express' aircraft is on an ACMI contract with Astraeus Ltd. that also provides back-up in case of operational needs.
