MAY 07,2003 (newstodate): Russia's total air cargo volumes accrued to 206,000 tonnes, according to information by the Russian Ministry of Transport.
This implied a three percent decrease over last yer, mainly due to a significant drop in Russian air cargo exports that were nearly halved compared to the preceding year.
Russia's air cargo imports, however, increased by seven percent, implying a nearly 90 percent rise in proportion of total Russian international air cargo.
-The extreme imbalance in Russian air cargo traffic makes it most difficult for airlines to throw in additional capacity into the Russian market, says Michael Dantchev, M&M director air cargo.
