MAY 12, 2003 (newstodate): In Q1, air cargo volumes at Copenhagen Airport dropped by 9.9 percent, to 81,988 tonnes.
Correspondingly, the volume of cargo operations was down by 31.2 percent compared to last year.
Notably transfer cargo, which at 70 percent constitutes the largest single category of air cargo, was down from 66.559 tonnes in Q1 last year to 57,442 tonnes in 2003.
This was mainly due to changes in DHL's traffic system at Copenhagen Airport.
From April 1, Singapore Airlines Cargo added a fourth weekly flight at Copenhagen, warranting a monthly capacity increase at 400-500 tonnes.
