MAY 15, 2003 (newstodate): The Bulgarian transport minister sees bright future for national carrier, Bulgaria Air from this year already.
The state-owned carrier succeeded bankrupt Balkan Airlines and conducted its first flights at the beginning of December last year on the Sofia-London-Paris-Sofia route.
According to industry sources, the airline performed above budgets during Q1, exceeding passenger sales prognosis by 18 percent, and the transport minister expects the airline to generate profits from this summer's charter flights alone around USD 2,5 million by the end of September.
