MAY 30, 2003 (newstodate): Armenian carrier, Armavia, controlled by Russian Sibir Airlines, plans to increase its fleet significantly.
The airline now operates one Airbus A320, but two more aircraft of this type will be added within three weeks. Also two smaller aircraft for regional flights will be added.
Acccording to the airline's CEO, Peter Smith, Armavia is seeking to restore international flights as well.
Armavia is already operating its bankrupt predecessor, Armenian Airlines' Amsterdam route, and the route to Frankfurt will soon be increased in frequency.
