MAY 28, 2003 (newstodate): Air Atlanta Icelandic expects to see its freighter fleet to grow significantly over the the next few years.
The ACMI and wet-lease provider to the global airline industry took in its for four Boeing 747-200 freighters this year but plans to add a further three aircraft before the end of this year.
Plans are to ad a further batch of four in 2003, plus another four in 2005, bringing the total to 15 freighter aircraft by the end of that year.
Air Atlanta now has a total of 27 aircraft in its fleet, and a staff of 1,400 employees distributed on 34 nationalities.
-By 2006 we wil probably have a total of 16-17 freighters, and a like number of passenger aircraft, says Erling Aspelund, Air Atlanta corporate communications manager.
