APR 04, 2003 (newstodate): The Russian State Civil Aviation Service has announced that foreign airlines can now operate cargo flights through Russian airspace, effective from April 1.
According to sources, Lufthansa Cargo, Air France and Korean Air have each obtained initial rights to operate 20 flights per week through the Siberian airspace, via Arctica 1.
Other cargo companies in a/o. Sweden and Japan have been granted similar rights.
