APR 04, 2003 (newstodate): Air Atlanta Icelandic has signed a five year agreement with Aircraft Maintenance and Engineering Corporation (AMECO) in Beijing.
The agreement covers Boeing 747 heavy maintenance checks primarily and is worth some US$15-20 million depending on number of checks performed.
Air Atlanta Icelandic, headquartered in Iceland, operates 16 Boeing 747s, including six freighters, and since 2001 seven of the fleet have visited AMECO for checks.
Air Atlanta also operates three Boeing 757s and eight Boeing 767s.
