APR 01, 2003 (newstodate): From May 1, Air France Cargo will be fully operational in Latvia and Lithuania after starting up activities since March.
AF Cargo has designated Sky Partners as their GSA in all Baltic states.
-Air France Cargo will launch general Cargo and Express Cargo in both countries, says Kristo Vrager, Sky Partners.
Vrager says, general cargo will be operated through an overnight truck network via Tallinn to Malmoe in Sweden where it is transferred to aircraft, while express cargo will be handled by aircraft in Riga and Vilnius airports directly, to meet the demands on speed and door-to-door requirements.
Adding Lithuania and Latvia Air, France Cargo covers all of the Baltic region as the company has been active in Estonia for two years already, also with Sky Partners as cargo GSA.
