MAR 10, 2003 (newstodate): TNT plans to add 12 airport gateways over the next three year, including several in the Central and Eastern Europe, the company says.
This will bring the total of airports in TNT's European network to 67 by year 2005.
Among the new airport in the network will be Moscow, and Kiev. Also to be served are Bucharest, Timisoara, and Sofia that are currently co-loaded by TNT. The final decision will, however, be subject to favourable economic and political conditions, a TNT spokesman says.
TNT now operates a total of 19 BAe 146-200 and -300QT, six Airbus A300-B4F while two Boeing 737 freighters will join the fleet in May and September, respectively.
In addition, TNT has chartered two TU204 freighters.
