MAR 27, 2003 (newstodate): Swiss Cargo expects only insignificant impact on cargo from SWISS' recent downsizing of fleet, changes in summer schedule.
Thus, effects on short and medium-haul European routes from reducing or abolishing flights from Basel to a number of destinations are compensated by extensive road feeder services already in existence.
The Longhaul network is little affected, and some international lines including Zurich-Dubai-Karachi will be operated with Airbus A340 aircraft providing added capacity.
Some destinations, however, will disappear from SWISS Cargo's network altogether. These include Sarajevo and Tirana, among others.
