MAR 08, 2003 (newstodate): In the market from the start of this summer's program, new SWISS WorldCargo enhanced security cargo product, Argus, will prove its value also in the Central & East European markets, and Russia, says the company.
-Argus will be ideally suited for customers in these markets, providing enhanced security around the shipments during the entire process, says Oliver Evans, SWISS WorldCargo exec vp.
Argus shipments will be kept at specially sealed areas, closely monitored, and signed for by specially authorized people both at acceptance points, and prior to eventual delivery at the receiver's end.
According to Evans, SWISS WorldCargo's customers in these regions include manufacturers in the hi-tech industries working as sub-suppliers to foreign companies, primarily in Hungary, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia. Also, processing of Russia's rich resources of valuable minerals constitutes an attractive market for the new cargo product, he says.
According to Evans, the new product's rate will be about 30 percent above current general cargo rates in individual markets.
