MAR 10, 2003 (newstodate): The air cargo industry is in for yet another increase in fuel surcharges. Thus, Lufthansa Cargo has announced a new step upwards, to 0.20 euros per kilo as from March 24.
Only three weeks have passed since the latest increase, from 0.10 to 0.15 euro.
But fuel prices are steadily going up, and the fuel price index has now exceeded the threshold of 190 points for two consecutive weeks, forcing the airline to pass some of the cost burden on to customers.
