MAR 12, 2003 (newstodate): Antonov Airlines and partner, Air Foyle HeavyLift, accrued a turnover in excess of 140 million USD, making 2002 their best year ever, the company says.
The year was marked by a record-breaking number of bookings on the AN 124, the re-introduction of the re-furbished AN 22, and the commercial launch of the AN 225.
The company saw strong performance in the Afghan campaigns, flying on behalf of the German and Italian armed forces, and taking part in operations into the Gulf region for British and American forces.
HeavyLift now offers services with seven AN 124, one AN 225, in addition to the AN 22.
The company says its market share has now increased to about 50 percent.
