MAR 18, 2003 (newstodate): The single most important reason behind the impressive growth by 24 percent in air cargo volumes at Oslo Airport is the Aeroflot DC-10 freighter, says Oslo Airport.
-After a period of ad-hoc charters, the Aeroflot freighter taking fresh Norwegian salmon to Japan became a scheduled service by May, 2002, says Torlof Holte, Oslo Gardermoen Airport.
According to Holte, the freighter lifts about 500 tonnes of cargo out of Oslo every month. The freighter flies from Hahn Airport via Oslo to Osaka twice weekly.
