FEB 14, 2003 (newstodate): Uganda has regained the documents for its C-130 plane after paying $140,000 to the Swiss company,AVISTO, which repaired the aircraft.
AVISTO repaired the Uganda Air Cargo C-130 Hercules after it crashed in Egypt in 1995.
When Uganda failed to pay the repair costs, AVISTO confiscated the aircraft's technical documents without which Uganda could not fly the plane. The aircraft has been grounded since 1999.
Uganda Air Cargo plans to service the C-130 Hercules and start flying cargo to Djibouti and Dubai before May.
