FEB 20, 2003 (newstodate): Swedish independent carrier, Swedline plans to open a new route between Copenhagen Airport and Palanga, Lithuania from this summer.
-Pending government approvals of our application for traffic rights, the new route will be included from this summer's programme, says Jorgen Gustafsson, Swedline CEO.
Gustafsson says the route will be operated daily via Ronneby, Sweden, with SAAB 340 aircraft.
Since October, 2002, Swedline already operates a route between Stockholm and Palanga, and the airline is eyeing further Baltic destinations while positioning itself before the immiment admission into EU of states in the Baltic region.
The new Copenhagen-Palanga route will also be available for air cargo, primarily express and courier shipments, and Swedline has named Lithuanian freight forwarding company, Interekspresas as its cargo GSA in the region.
Swedline's fleet currently comprises five SAAB 340 aircraft.
