FEB 21, 2003 (newstodate): Malev took in its first of 18 Boeing 737 NG aircraft on January 30, with the last one to enter service in Spring, 2005.
This is part of a major fleet renewal program, financed in cooperation with IFLG.
Malev is also currently phasing in new Bombardier CRJ-200 aircraft, the first two of which were added in 2002, with two more to come this spring, while a further six aircraft are currrently being negotiated.
The Boeing 737NG will replace Malev's fleet of 15 Boeing 737 Classics, while the CRJ-200 will replace the ageing six Fokker F70 regional aircraft. Besides, Malev operates two Boeing 767-200ER
