FEB 10, 2003 (newstodate): Lufthansa Cargo has announced its decision to increase cargo rates from April 1, 2003, by 3.5 percent on an average, based on market-to-market assesments.
According to the company, the decision is prompted by rising costs, especially from 3rd party service providers.
In addition, changes are planned in long-term capacity agreements, to be pegged more closely to changes in demands on individual routes. Thus, rates will be hiked during the coming summer on airfreight destined for highly frequented destinations.
Other decisions include an "e for free" concept, to be extend from currently td.Flash to Standard td.Pro ervices as well. The aim is to promote further customers' use of electronic bookings.
