FEB 20, 2003 (newstodate): Russian carrier, East Line Airlines reports a strong performance in 2002, with total cargo and mail volume up 45% on 2001, an airline spokeswoman says.
The airline handled 31.400 tonnes of cargo and mail, and produced 238,100 ton-kilometers, up 20%.
Load factor increased by 1.9 percent points compared to 2001, reaching 76.7%.
The airline thus generated 17% of all cargo through its Moscow hub, at Domodedovo Airport.
The airline is a designated Russian cargo carrier to China, South Korea, Germany, Greece, and the UAE, operating scheduled cargo flights to a range of destinations within these countries.
East Line Airlines' subsidiary, East Line Logistics, set up in 2002, utilizes the airline's network comprising some 70 cargo flights per month on regular international and domestic routes, served by IL-76 aircraft.
