FEB 25, 2003 (newstodate): Hong Kong-based airline, Dragonair continues its year-on-year progress, reporting an increase at 65.87% in the cargo volume carried in January, the airline says in a statement.
Dragonair carried a total of 18,262 tonnes in the first month of 2003.
-Following the busy period at the end of the year we now seasonally see somewhat slower demand. However, there was a surge in the last week of January, as companies rushed out shipments ahead of the Lunar New Year, Stanley Hui, Dragonair CEO, says.
Hui adds that exports from the mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan remained very strong during the month, while imports into the mainland were also robust.
