FEB 25, 2003 (newstodate): Cathay Pacific, member of the new new ACE internet portal together with Singapore Airlines Cargo, Japan Airlies Cargo, and Qantas Cargo, reported a 8.3 increase in cargo during January, to 68,226 tonnes, compared to last year.
-This year there was a particularly short period between the end of Christmas and New Year and the Chinese New Year holiday, which started 31 January. That gave very little time for the pre-Chinese New Year peak to build, as it usually does, before the actual holiday was upon us and businesses took their long break, says Cathay Pacific Manager Cargo Sales & Distribution Philippe de Gentile Williams in a company statement.
