FEB 17, 2003 (newstodate): US/Uzbek owned carrier, Avialiseasing Aviation Company is seeing strong progress for its Miami-based operations, adding a 4th AN-26 by the end of February.
Avialeasing already operates three AN-26 and one AN-12, and has set up a maintenance base at Opa Locka Airport, Miami - the only one to provide maintenance and repair for these aircraft types in the USA.
The expansion comes after the signing of three additional contracts for Avialeasing in the region.
Thus, Avialeasing is to operate one AN-26 with Carib-Ex Worldwide on an ACMI-contract, serving Aguadilla-Santa Domingo.
Another contract has been signed with Florida Air Cargo for an AN-26 to operate daily flights between Miami and Nassau, while a third contract signed with Turks Air Company provides for flights on the route Miami-Providence-Grand Turk-Miami.
