DEC 15, 2003 (newstodate): After a slow period, Norway's air cargo volumes on IATA carriers are slowly picking up again.
CASS statistics for the period January-September show that the third quarter picked up 26 percent in volumes against the second quarter.
But as the first half year was marked by significant drops in volumes, total volumes during January-September were still 4.3 percent down on last year, totalling 42,572 tonnes, while cargo revenue was down 6.5 percent to NOK 809 million.
Norwegian salmon exports to Japan account for top-ranking 27.1 percent of total volumes, and with 11.519 tonnes this export was down 18.1 percent.
China comes next, with 17.7 percent, and total volumes of 7.516 tonnes fared better, down 6.4 percent.
