DEC 27, 2003 (newstodate) If Santa did not bring you the An-124 aircraft you had wished for this Christmas, there may be a chance to buy one yourself at a public auction in Canada early in 2004.
The aircraft was taken in custody in Canada on June 26 as it landed at a Canadian air force base to bring military equipment to an Italian air force unit on a training mission.
The reason for the arrest of the plane was an announcement by TMP Canadian energy company that claims the Ukrainean government owes it Canadian dollars 62 million.
The issue has now been taken to the Federal Court of Canada after having already been considered by lower court levels.
If a solution is not found, the aircraft may be put on sale to reimbourse the debts.
