DEC 02, 2003 (newstodate): FMC Airport Systems has acquired the RampSnake baggage loading system product line from SAS, parent company of Scandinavian Airlines.
The RampSnake system's ground-based, automated baggage loader primarily services narrow-body aircraft and has the potential to speed up loading and unloading operations by approximately 50 percent over conventional methods.
-With almost 5,000 units in use, FMC Airport Systems' Commander Loaders are the best-selling wide-body aircraft loaders in the world. The RampSnake narrow-body aircraft loader complements our Commander Loader product, says Charles H. Cannon, Jr, FMC Technologies VP.
