DEC 17,2003 (newstodate): Sweden's Gothenburg Landvetter Airport saw its cargo volumes up by 25 percent in November, totalling 6,254 tonnes.
Exports took the lead, up 34 percent, to 3.226 tonnes, mainly driven by the new route between Dubai and New York via Gothenburg, launched by Emirates SkyCargo and now expanded with a second weekly flight in both directions.
The positive development comes after a weak performance in the preceding months, with modest, and even negative, monthly growth rates.
Thus the airport has still not catched up with last year, ending with a two percent decline over the period January-November, accruing a total of 48,924 tonnes, and a decline by six percent in both imports and exports.
