DEC 1, 2003 (newstodate): Dragonair Cargo scored the third consecutive monthly cargo uplift record in November.
The company lifted 26,452 tonnes in a single month for the first time in its history. This corresponds to an increase by 20 percent on last year, and a 1.7 percent rise over the record set in October.
-Cargo is having an exceptional year.Even with the lack-lustre economic situation in Europe and Asia, demand in these markets for goods from the China Mainland has been streaking ahead. This bodes well for 2004, when the general consensus is for an improved economic growth outlook, says Stanley Hui, Dragonair CEO.
Dragonair operates a fleet of nine A330-300s, six A321s and eight A320s, in addition to three Boeing 747-300 freighters. The airline's passenger network covers 28 destinations across the Asia-Pacific region, while its cargo network connects the markets of Europe, the Middle East, Japan, Taiwan and China Mainland.
