DEC 19, 2003 (newstodate): Alitalia's board maintains its goals as detailed in the 2004-2006 business plan, the airline says in a statement following on a number of staff demonstrations on December 17.
Growth is to be maintained, the statement says, by increase of capacity by 30 percent, investments of some 1.2 billion euro, improving the Boeing 767 long-haul fleet, and opening of new intercontinental and medium-haul routes.
Already after its board meeting on November 11, Alitalia said it would announce "important initiatives" for expanding the intercontinental and international networks "in the coming days". Which it has failed to do so far, however.
