NOV 10, 2003 (newstodate): Onexp, selling and marketing the cargo capacity on Scandinavian budget airline Sterling continues its build-up in the market.
-For Sterling, air cargo is a niche product, with passengers and passenger baggage taking first priority. But even so we are now transporting some 10 tonnes per month of air cargo, making cargo a significant contributor to the airline's profits, says Peter Garrett, Sterling captain and owner of Onexp.
According to Mr Garrett, Onexp expects a significant impact from Sterling's traffic at Billund Airport, Denmark's second largest international airport, from next spring.
-Billund will add a strong regional cargo market to our network, and I expect this to translate into air cargo growth figures, he says.
