NOV 13, 2003 (newstodate): From December 1, Korean Air Cargo will operate a Boeing 747-400F freighter from Seoul to Helsinki with imports from Korea to Finland, the airline confirms.
According to industry sources, Korean does not, however, have the rights to carry cargo out of Finland, so the aircraft will leave Helsinki to fly an empty leg back to Seoul, or the eventual routing will include an empty leg from Helsinki to "another" European airport from which it can load cargo for the return flight to Seoul.
Among the options open may be Copenhagen or Frankfurt.
Sources claim, however, that the aircraft will eventually operate a freighter route from Luxembourg to Seoul, with the Korean Air Cargo Brussels-office in charge of sales and marketing.
No official confirmation on this is, however, currently available from the airline.
