NOV 21, 2003 (newstodate): The international GSA organisation, FAGSA, has decided to establish an airports division.
The new division aims at standardising issues such as security, handling contracts, quality and accounting to streamline business conditions, and make it easier for airlines to decide on airport alternatives.
-GSAs and cargo-dedicated airports share this basic goal of attracting as much traffic as possible, and the closer we work together, the better are the options we represent. That is why it is natural for FAGSA to go beyond its traditional borders as in this case, says Helge Luehr, FAGSA chairman of the board.
A group of airport representatives, currently including Jan Ditlevsen, Denmark, and Mohamed Sallauddin bin Hj. Mat Sah, Malaysia, will now take steps to formalise the division, and call for members around the world.
