NOV 17, 2003 (newstodate): Estonian company Enimex, currently operating one AN-72 aircraft for the UN in Afghanistan, is expanding its activies in the region.
-Within the news two weeks we plan to locate a second AN-72 aircraft in Afghanistan as an expansion of our current contract with the UN, says Alexey Lubidsky, Enimex.
Enimex also operates one AN-72 aircraft for the UN in Sierra Leone.
-The aircraft is used as a UN shuttle, operating flights to destination including Monrovia, Abidjan, Accra and Senegal, and also performs medivac operations, Lubidsky says.
Despite sustained good business development, Enimex has however decided to postpone its decision for adding a DC-10 freighter, originally slated for this year.
The DC-10 project is designed to serve the Europe-Far East cargo market, but sufficient financing has still not been put in place, Lubidsky says.
