NOV 07, 2003 (newstodate): From next year, Czech provider of air navigation services, Rizeni letoveho provozu, RLP, will cut fees, and basic en-route charges will be reduced from the current EUR 34.55 to EUR 30.16.
This is a response to fast growing traffic volumes through Czech airspace leading to strong build-up of profits.
The Czech Republic is the only country in Europe which cut the prices in the middle of this year already.
The current fees for the use of Czech airspace are already the fifth lowest among the 28 Eurocontrol members.
As a result, air traffic over the Czech Republic is growing at almost the fastest rate in Europe. Despite the reduced fees, sales are rising. This year, RLP thus expects sales at some Kc2 billion, compared with last year's Kc1.9 billion.
