NOV 06, 2003 (newstodate): Austrian Airlines will further strengthen its acitivites in the East European market.
One target is to increase traffic volume to and from Central and Eastern Europe from its current level of approximately 1.2 million passengers by 50 percent, entailing a further 650,000 additional passengers until 2008.
As a first step, 49 additional weekly flights into this region were introduced at the beginning of the winter schedule, including flights to Baku in Azerbaijan and to Rostov on the Don in southern Russia.
The plan for the summer programme 2004 forsees another 60 additional flight frequencies to Central and Eastern Europe, and direct flights from Bratislava to Brussels, Paris and London.
