NOV 10, 2003 (newstodate): Air India has decided on a fleet acquisition plan comprising a total of 28 new aircraft.
The acquision plan includes 10 long-range aircraft of the types Airbus A340-300 to be deplopyed on Air India routes to Europe, USA, Canada, and to Saudi Arabia.
The 18 short-range aircraft will be Boeing 737-800 for routes between India and the Guld, Africa and South East Asia.
