NOV 28, 2003 (newstodate): Air France is seeing the Swedish market growing "somewhat" before Christmas, but this year's traditional peak will probably be more limited in volumes.
-We are facing a tough competition in the market. The rates battle started around February this year but intensified significantly after August so even if we have quite a substantial volume of requests, the rates-issue eventually reigns supreme, says Anders Brag, Air France country manager Sweden.
While Africa remains a speciality for Air France even in Sweden, USA with some 40 percent of the Air France ex-Sweden volumes top the list, together with shipments for Asia, notably China and Shanghai, now trafficked four times weekly by Air France's freighters.
