OCT 10, 2003 (newstodate): Latvian forwarding company Spedair reports sound increases in business during 2003.
-The year started rather slowly, but we have seen a huge increase in air cargo exports, Inga Brasla, Spedair manager and co-owner, says.
-The increase is mainly driven by very big shipments of textiles from Riga to Boston. Normally this traffic goes by sea, but due to some delays in production the shipments now have to go by air which, of course, is a big boost to our company, she says.
Spedair is currently trucking some 50 cubic metres of textile shipments per week from Riga to Frankfurt for Lufthansa Cargo flights to Boston.
Spedair has accordingly expanded staff to a total of 22 employees working in Latvia.
